WHY AND HOW DO WE RECYCLE PLASTIC?

We are passionate about re-using, recycling and respecting our environment. We source plastic locally and recycle in-house to keep clarity, quality and control over the process. This long process, our labour of love, gives us our base material from which our products are made. Our material is a nominal 3mm thick, it is flexible, translucent and durable, making it ideal for our practical products.

HOW DO WE CREATE OUR DESIGNS?

We use our recycled plastic to encase our selected textiles. The hand arranging of these embedded items mean that no two designs are exactly the same.

People often think our designs are printed as we often trap items near the surface, they are however actual textiles [leaves, fabric, threads] that are embedded within the plastic.

Our lampshade material is created by collaging reclaimed laces together and encasing them in a thin, strong plastic [without the addition of a laminate backing usually found on fabric shades]. This allows a beautiful diffusion of light out from the shade rather than concentrating it solely downwards. Unfortunately we cannot use recycled plastic in this process, though the technique is sustainable with minimal waste.

HOW DO I CARE FOR LUCENTIA PRODUCTS?

All products, including our shades can be easily wiped clean. Coasters and placemats can be washed gently, but are not suitable for dishwashers.

Coasters and placemats are heat resistant to 60°C and so are perfect for hot drinks and warmed plates. Please note that these are placemats not serving mats so nothing should be placed on them straight from the hob or oven.

Products should be stored flat in a cool, dry place.

If the item you want to purchase is out of stock please contact us directly by email or telephone as below. We can reserve the item for you and let you know as soon as it is back in stock. 

HOW WILL MY ORDER BE DELIVERED?

Our orders are sent out by first class recorded delivery, orders of £75 or more are sent out by a next day courier service. For overseas orders please contact us directly.

We aim to send orders out within 3 working days, unless stated otherwise. For example if an item is made to order a delivery date will be sent to you on receipt of your order.

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED?

Lucentia accepts payments through PayPal, the secure online payment system, you do not need a PayPal account to purchase from us as it accepts most major credit and debit cards.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT A REFUND?

Should you be unsatisfied on receipt of your order we will issue a full refund provided goods are returned to us as they were delivered, unused and in their original packaging.

A full refund can only be given on receipt of the work being returned unused at the cost of the customer.
